PHILADELPHIA COUNTY:
- On Saturday, December 6th, 2008 AOH / LAOH Division 6 (Phila. Co.) held a Christmas Party during which they collected toys for the Marine Corps. Toys For Tots program, and collected canned goods for the Hibernian Hunger Project.
- During the Month of April 2009 the members of AOH / LAOH Division 1 (Phila. Co.) distributed meals to shut-ins in Center City Philadelphia.
- On April 8th, 2009 members of AOH / LAOH Division 17 (Phila. Co.) organized the annual Hibernian Dinner at the St. John’s Hospice in Center City Philadelphia. Helping Division 17 were members of AOH / LAOH Division 1, the Roman Catholic H.S. AOH Junior Division, and AOH Division 51. Members prepared and served the meal and then had dinner with the homeless clients of St. John’s.
- During the weekend of May 1st - 3rd, 2009 AOH / LAOH Division 51 (Phila. Co.) held their 5th Annual Spring “Fill The Cart - Help A Vet In Need” collection outside the Port Richmond Thriftway. At the end of the weekend 3.5 shopping carts full of canned goods and personal grooming items were collected, and $1,356 was raised for the Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service & Education Center, Inc.
